No Place / Sequenzprotokoll
No Place/Sequenzprotokoll is part of the exhibition series No Place World Tour
The idea of the artist as a curator could be seen as a counterbalance to scientific exhibitions. Therefore, it was important for me to design the exhibition according to the principles of my own art production. The title Sequenzeprotokoll is borrowed from the field of film analysis and refers to an overview of a film as a list of individual sequences. This breakdown allows one to understand the overall structure and lays the foundation for informed interpretations.
The cinematic practice of breaking down into individual sequences is an integral part of the working process of the artists being exhibited. This thinking in series or work groups forces both the producer and the viewer to adopt specific forms of approaching the themes. The entirety of the work can never be fully comprehended through a single image or object. Viewers are compelled to move through the space to perceive the commonalities and differences of the individual pieces. Thus, the conceptual approach is emphasized on the one hand, while on the other hand, it allows for the depiction of time or the emphasis on three-dimensionality in two-dimensional media. The statement
The statement “Serial order is a method, not a style,” as postulated by Mel Bochner in 1967 in Artforum, is taken up, questioned, and expanded.

The Project: No Place World Tour
Supported collectively by five galleries – Nueveochenta (Colombia), Arróniz (Mexico), Sturm Schober (Germany & Austria), NF/NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ (Spain), and Galerie Sator (France) – the 4th edition of no place, under the title no place world tour, will take place from January to August 2024. The planned curated exhibitions will be held in Madrid, Bogotá, Mexico City, Vienna, and Paris, Romainville.
no place is an experimental platform for exhibiting contemporary art. Its goal is to provide the audience with new experiences through an alternative production model. This model emphasizes the essential role of the galleries’ support. no place operates under a collaborative system, where the tools, teams, and resources of each member are made available to all others. This is done in a collective effort to produce and finance events where the focus is entirely on the artists’ works, while the galleries benefit from the exchange of intangible values.
In this sense, it is an unprecedented experiment, through which the galleries aim to contribute to the transformation of an established reality, as typically sought by all actors in the art world.
The name no place refers to Thomas More’s utopian work Utopia, in which he projects the organization of an ideal society. no place adopts a gesture of radical imagination, aiming to create a space where the experience of art and the commercial potential of the event are harmonized. At the same time, it is a nomadic project, as each edition will take place in a different city and space.
For the 4th edition, no place will celebrate its most ambitious project yet: the no place world tour. Beginning in Paris, the no place world tour will open on January 14 at Galerie Sator in Komunuma with an exhibition curated by Raphael Denis, showcasing an artist from the group of artists represented by the no place galleries.
According to this concept, this will be the first of five exhibitions to take place in 2024 across five different countries.
