HÖHENFLUG IN DER KRISTIANIA GARAGE WINTER 2023/24

Galerie Sturm & Schober will once again exhibit a selection of artists from the gallery program in the garage of the Kristiania Hotel from December 19, 2023.

With this year’s presentation, the gallery underlines its international and multidisciplinary portfolio and continues to integrate Austrian positions, which are placed in the context of renowned international artists. For example, the German artist Wolfram Ullrich, who skilfully combines sculpture and painting, the Colombian artist Beatriz Olano with her expansive, colorful works, the Korean-German artist collective Atelier JAK, which works in a space between reality and substantiality, the drawing artist Paul Thuile with his unique perspective lines as well as the doyen of Dutch conceptual art and biennale artist herman de vries and other artists from the program will be shown.

This year, the focus is on the Austrian artist Inge Dick, whose works will be shown in the hotel’s rooms and whose extraordinary photographic documentation will fill the entire dining room. Inge Dick’s innovative work enjoys an outstanding position, which is illustrated not least by her multiple awards, such as the Peter C. Ruppert Prize for Concrete Art in Europe or the Austrian Art Prize for Artistic Photography, as well as her presence in renowned public collections such as the Guggenheim Museum, NY and the Albertina, VIE. In addition, she was listed among the 100 most successful Austrian artists in this year’s art ranking of the magazine “trend.”.
